Stray Dog Horn Street

Good news to share with our Hythe community! 🐾

While out on patrol today, we were alerted to a small dog running loose along Horn Street and weaving in and out of the road. With the help of a kind local resident, the dog was safely secured and, after liaising with the Council's Environmental Health Team, we were able to trace the owner through the dog's microchip.

We are pleased to say that the dog has now been safely reunited with a very relieved owner.

This incident highlights the importance of ensuring pets are correctly microchipped and that contact details are kept up to date. Stray dogs are regularly dealt with by both the police and local authority, and identifying an owner can sometimes be a lengthy process. On this occasion, the microchip information allowed for a quick identification and a prompt, safe return home.
